In the age of AI, it is increasingly important to understand how AI can serve as an effective tool in the writing process, and what it means to use it with academic integrity. This workshop explores how to use AI effectively and responsibly while maintaining your own voice as a writer.
October 7th, 2026: 4-5pm in the Fishbach Room, Folsom Library
A strong application essay relies on specific evidence rather than general claims. This workshop covers the "show, don't tell" principle and how to use concrete examples and details to support statements about a student's strengths, interests, and goals. Students will leave with strategies for revising general statements into more persuasive, evidence-based writing.

Drop-In Tutoring at the Success Center this Sunday, Sept. 16th will only be held from 4-5pm due to the Folsom Library Hours.
The Writing Lab at the Student Success Center is offering four workshops this fall, open to all undergraduate and graduate students. Two sessions focus on graduate school application writing, one addresses the use of AI in academic writing, and one covers oral presentation skills. All sessions are free and open to the RPI community.
Workshops are held at the Student Success Center, Folsom Library, 1st Floor from 4-5p.m.
